A first look at Smoked — Columbia SC’s upscale oyster bar
So you don’t pull a muscle finding the what’s-what, we’re going to be shucking out all the information on Smoked — the newest upscale restaurant on the 1600 block of Main Street.
What to expect:
When you first walk in, you’ll be greeted by a long bar to the right with taps from the built-in microbrewery, Peak Drift — the 64,000 sq ft. brewery coming on North Main next year.
You’ll also find two dining rooms with the first hosting an oyster bar that sits underneath a skylight — original to the historic building — that was refurbished during construction. The other dining room is a private event space with an additional bar.

If you pass the dining rooms + microbrewery, you’ll find yourself in the lounge that’s attached to the outdoor patio through sliding glass doors.
The real secret sauce of Smoked will be its speakeasy, featuring top-shelf liquors and rotating cocktails from a team of Columbia’s best mixologists.

Let’s talk grub. Reservations are now open. Click to see the full menu where you can order steak flights, char-grilled oysters, and seafood towers.
After the grand opening on Nov. 13, the restaurant will be open for lunch + dinner Monday-Fridays. On weekends, Smoked will offer a brunch menu and stay open for dinner.
Fun fact — Smoked is made up of three historic buildings and was still standing after the Civil War in 1866. Check out this full behind-the-scenes video to find more about the history of Smoked.
